At the heart of the changing automotive-logistics sector since 1957.

4 September 1957: The Compagnie d'Affrètement et Transport (CAT) is created by Renault. Its initial role is to transport Renault 4CVs by sea to compete in the US market.

1963: CAT starts distribution to the Renault vehicle network in France.

1967: We create our first transport-associated services: storage and preparation.

1970: CAT Belgium, the company's first subsidiary, is established. This is the beginning of the company's international expansion (which continues to this day, most notably in Eastern European countries).

1974: With the creation of TED (Transport Entreposage Distribution), CAT officially enters the parts-logistics sector. This activity is now part of Cargo Logistics.

1986: The Cargo Logistics Division begins to distribute motorcycles in France, starting with Kawasaki.

1991: Pioneering the way in IT solutions, CAT introduces Districat, an automatic positioning management system which tracks the whereabouts of a vehicle.

2001: Renault sells the CAT Group to Global Automotive Logistics Consortium. Backed by its shareholders (all leaders in their respective areas of logistics), the CAT Group provides Renault and its other clients with a complete global network.

2004: After signing contracts with Mitsubishi, Nissan and Volvo Cars in 2004, the CAT Group starts operations with BMW, DaimlerChrysler, Ford, Hyundai, Kia, Opel, Scania and Toyota. With the creation of CAT-WWL Logistics in South Africa, CAT Group arrives on the African continent.

2005: Renault extends its cargo logistics contracts with the CAT Group in 11 European countries. CAT strengthens its vehicle-logistics position in Italy with the creation of MERCAT, a joint venture with the Mercurio Group.

2006: The Group speeds up growth on the fast-expanding Eastern European markets. A new subsidiary is set up in Ukraine, following a contract with Honda, Toyota and Yamaha for parts distribution. In Slovakia, the CAT Group sets up Automobile Logistics Slovakia which has won the logistics contract for vehicles produced by the Kia plant in Zilina.
